The Regional State Autonomous Healthcare Institution “Medical Unit of the Irkutsk Aviation Production Association” is a multidisciplinary medical institution that provides qualified and specialized medical care to residents of three districts of the city, and on duty days – to patients of Irkutsk and the Irkutsk region who need emergency medical care.

There are 13 preschool educational institutions, five schools, a gymnasium, a technical school for aircraft construction and metalworking, and the Irkutsk Aviation Plant on the territory under the jurisdiction of the IAPO Medical Unit.

Mikhail Mishustin got acquainted with the program of reconstruction of the complex of buildings in Irkutsk to accommodate the Suvorov Military School

The structure of the institution includes an adult and children’s polyclinic, a hospital, an obstetric and gynecological service, paraclinical and auxiliary departments, five health centers on the territory of the Irkutsk Aviation Plant, a women’s consultation, and an administrative service. Currently, 15 thousand children are attached to the children’s polyclinic. In a medical facility, there is a long overdue need to improve the conditions for providing medical care to pregnant women.

Since the end of 2019, a children’s clinic and an antenatal clinic have been under construction on the territory of the IAPO Medical Unit.

The complex consists of three blocks: an eight-story one, which will house a women’s consultation for 200 visits per shift, a four-story and three-story one for a children’s clinic for 400 visits per shift with a diagnostic department.

The new polyclinic will be equipped with modern equipment, including magnetic resonance imaging, 64-slice multislice computed tomography. A modern laboratory is provided, including a bacteriological one. The complex is fully adapted for patients with limited mobility: each block has a separate elevator, barrier-free environment, ramps at the entrance to the building. The swimming pools are equipped with special lifts for children with limited mobility.

The children’s polyclinic will employ about 70 doctors of all specialties and directions, 90 nurses. The antenatal clinic has 20 doctors and 27 nurses.

The new complex will be able to serve about 65 thousand residents, including employees of the Irkutsk Aviation Production Association.

The term for putting the facility into operation under the contract is November 25, 2021. Construction and installation work at the facility is planned to be completed earlier than the deadline stipulated by the contract – September 1, 2021. The polyclinic will be able to receive the first patients in March 2022.
