The construction of the Irkutsk Suvorov Military School for 560 places is planned on the territory of the former Irkutsk Higher Military Aviation Engineering School (IVVAIU). In 2008, it was decided to join IVVAIU to the Voronezh Military Aviation University. The buildings and grounds have been empty since 2009, in fact they were abandoned.
Some of the buildings of the IVVAIU were built at the beginning of the last century and are part of the cultural heritage site of regional significance “Complex of buildings for a military gymnasium (cadet school) and a cadet school”. These are the historical buildings of the cadet school, the walking arena and the officers’ assembly. They are included in the construction project of the Irkutsk Suvorov School and will be restored and adapted to modern functional use. In addition, the project involves the construction of new school facilities that meet the sanitary and epidemiological requirements for educational organizations and ensure the organization of a full-fledged educational process.
The school will expand the opportunities for military-patriotic education of the younger generation, provide conditions for the intellectual, creative and sports development of youth. Graduates of the school, including orphans and children left without parental care, will have the opportunity to enter the best military educational institutions in the country.
