Meteorological specialists of the Baltic Fleet deployed mobile meteorological stations and complexes during a special exercise on hydrometeorological support, which is taking place in the Kaliningrad region under the leadership of Colonel Vladimir Udrish, head of the Hydrometeorological Service of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

Calculations of mobile autonomous complexes for receiving meteorological information “Syuzhet-MB” have worked out the receipt of meteorological data from orbital and geostationary satellites. In the course of the work, the complexes MALS, MRLK-BZ and other modern equipment were also used.

Naval meteorologists performed observation of the actual state of the hydrometeorological situation in the given areas, collecting, receiving, analyzing and disseminating information on the actual and predicted state of the situation. During the preparation of the weather report, the servicemen determined the cloud cover, the height of the cloud base, the sea level, the direction and speed of the wind, the air humidity and atmospheric pressure, as well as other necessary information.

The collected data was transferred to control points for further decision-making on the performance of ships at sea and flights of naval aviation, as well as in the interests of other units of the Baltic Fleet.

More than 100 servicemen were involved in the exercise, various special equipment were involved, as well as hydrographic vessels of the Baltic Fleet.
