Servicemen of motorized rifle units of the Central Military District (CVD) in the Sverdlovsk Region are mastering the experimental training program “Steel Hunter”. The program makes it possible to increase the interchangeability of crew members of BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles during the performance of combat training missions, as well as to train servicemen in non-standard methods of combat.

This training program differs significantly from the standard one in that previously, the crew members of a combat vehicle were trained one at a time. For example, the driver only controlled the equipment, while the commander and gunner acted strictly within the framework of their functionality.

The “Steel Hunter” combat training program implies that during the driving and shooting exercises, the driver can change places with the commander or gunner at the command of the head of the lesson and continue moving along the track. Also, in addition to live shooting at standard targets, the Steel Hunter course includes flank shooting, overcoming an area with mine-explosive obstacles, fighting unmanned aerial vehicles and medical training.
