The servicemen of the Russian peacekeeping contingent provided targeted humanitarian aid to 20 large families in remote villages of the Lachin region of Nagorno-Karabakh.

As part of the humanitarian action, Russian peacekeepers made a 100 km march from the city of Stepanakert to the village. Aghavno and the town of Lachin, Lachin region, and donated kitchen and food sets to large families.

“I have been living here for 11 years with my family. I have three children, they were all born here. We love our village Aghavno very much and do not want to go anywhere from here. Today our Russian brothers have come, probably with gifts. Thank you for always standing behind us, we can contact you with any questions. Thank you very much, ”said a resident of the village. During the current week, the officers of the humanitarian response center provided humanitarian aid with a total weight of about 2.5 tons to more than 300 people in difficult life situations.

Russian servicemen have an individual approach to providing targeted assistance to citizens living near the contact line. Residents of remote areas are regularly provided with basic necessities – clothes and shoes for children and adults, washing powders, gas burners for cooking, kitchen utensils, grocery sets, bedding sets, pillows, blankets, personal hygiene items, children’s toys, as well as individual medical first aid kits.

In accordance with the agreements specified in the joint statement of the President of the Russian Federation, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, from 00:00 Moscow time on November 10, 2020, a complete ceasefire and all hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh were announced.

A peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Federation has been deployed to control the ceasefire and military operations in Nagorno-Karabakh.
