The foreign trade turnover of the regions of the Siberian Federal District in the first half of 2021 increased by more than 15% compared to the same period in 2020, Dmitry Kolykhanov, deputy head of the Siberian customs department, head of the federal customs revenue service, said in the TASS press center on Wednesday.

“In the first quarter of 2021, the foreign trade turnover of the Siberian Federal District amounted to $ 21.4 billion, and it increased by more than 15% compared to the first half of 2020,” Kolykhanov said.

According to him, such an increase can be associated with an increase in demand for goods and, as a result, the activity of foreign trade against the background of the first half of 2020. So, according to Kolykhanov’s data, the regions of Siberia in the first half of 2021 exported products for $ 16.6 billion, importing for $ 4.9 billion.

Most of all, Siberia exported coal, which makes up almost a third of exports, aluminum and oil. The regions of Siberia bought equipment and mechanical devices, aluminum oxides, civil aircraft. The customs representative noted that the export of bricks, medicines, shrimp, cattle meat to Kazakhstan, honey to Poland and Belarus, dried mushrooms to Italy, Germany and Bosnia and Herzegovina has significantly increased.

The main export partners of the district remain: China, which occupies almost a quarter in the volume of exports, Taiwan, Japan, Turkey. In total, export operations were carried out with partners from 138 countries of the world. In 2021, Uruguay, Angola, Chad, Burundi, Djibouti were added to the list of export partners of Siberia.
