Among the major objects of this year are the Balchug Island, outbound highways, areas near new and under construction metro stations.

In the summer in the capital, work is actively carried out on the comprehensive improvement of urban areas and public spaces. This was told by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Communal Services and Improvement Peter Biryukov

“The work is being carried out quite actively. Starting from small squares, parks, ending with global objects, work is going on everywhere. We will have approximately 130 large facilities this year. These are large parks, large highways where work is underway, ”said the deputy mayor.

According to the head of the municipal economy complex, in general, this season, work is going on more than five thousand objects with a total area of more than 6.5 thousand hectares.

“My District”: new parks and renovated courtyards

The city continues to implement the program “My region”for the improvement of district and regional parks and squares. Over the past 10 years, the number of organized parks and squares in Moscow has increased from 130 to 752, their total area today is more than 18.5 thousand hectares

This year 130 objects will be landscaped, including two floodplain areas of the Yauza River. A large-scale project is being implemented there to create park “Yauza”, which will become the longest ecological park in Europe.

Under the program “My District”, almost four thousand courtyard and intra-quarter territories with an area of more than 4.2 thousand hectares are now being landscaped. Work on 1,700 sites has already been completed, the improvement of the rest will be completed by the City Day.

Paths are laid in the courtyards, tennis courts are equipped, playgrounds are being built and renovated, benches, trash cans, new lanterns with energy-saving lamps are installed. Also, trees and shrubs are planted, lawns and flower beds are laid out.

All actions, added Pyotr Biryukov, are discussed with Muscovites, experts are thinking over how to implement the decisions made according to the developed programs.

“From home to home”: convenient and safe routes

Petr Biryukov also spoke about the new home to home improvement program. It provides for the improvement of the territory from the facade of the building on one side of the street to the facade of the building on the other side of the street and is aimed at creating pedestrian zones in those places where it is primarily necessary for residents. At the first stage, the program included 36 objects.

“This is a street cleaning program. Not all streets have such physical capabilities, not all streets have financial capabilities to do the way we do. Let’s say outbound highways, streets of the central part of the city, are large in the first category. But the streets are inter-quarter, the streets of district links – they are also now being held similar events, but in a reduced volume, “- said Peter Biryukov.

Work is already underway at 33 road facilities. Three more will start soon. Improvement of objects under the program “From home to home” this year will be carried out in nine districts of the city. The largest objects that will be improved under this program will be Lomonosovsky Prospekt, Zvezdny Boulevard, Yunykh Lenintsev Street, Universitetsky Prospect, Sirenevy Boulevard, Golubinskaya Street, Izmailovsky Boulevard, Rustaveli and Zhivopisnaya Streets, Novoyasenevsky Prospect and Horoshevskoye Shosse. The works will also take place on the streets of Eldar Ryazanov, Heroes Panfilovtsev, Musa Jalil, Marshal Shestopalov and Dobrolyubov.

At these facilities, the road surface will be replaced, sidewalks and lawns will be laid. They will install almost three thousand new lanterns, 259 public transport stops, and organize parking.

Improvement near educational facilities

This year, 375 territories of educational facilities with an area of 414 hectares, located in all districts of the capital, will be landscaped. As Pyotr Biryukov specified, the work began in July, when the educational process was over.

“We believe that a school, a clinic, a House of Culture, a cinema are objects of mass stay of the population. Of course, these facilities need to be comfortable to stay. A school with its own stadiums and sports grounds should be constantly accessible to the population. It will be bad if the sports ground is not repaired on the school grounds, there is no play town, so priority attention is given to such facilities, ”the deputy mayor said.

Almost 1260 playgrounds will be replaced during the improvement of the territory of educational institutions. More than 80 football pitches, about 30 volleyball pitches, over 20 basketball pitches and almost 110 workout pitches will also be put in order. More than 490 thousand square meters of paths will be repaired or built, more than 650 thousand square meters of lawn and over nine thousand square meters of flower beds will be laid.

On the territories of educational institutions, one and a half thousand new poles of outdoor lighting will be installed, as well as about 19 thousand small architectural forms, 616 trees and almost 52 thousand shrubs will be planted.

All work is planned to be completed in the third quarter of this year.
