Crews of small anti-submarine ships (MPK) “Ust-Ilimsk” and “Kholmsk” from the formation of ships for the protection of the water area of ​​the Troops and forces in the northeast of Russia conducted an exercise to search for a simulated enemy submarine in the Sea of ​​Okhotsk.

The exercise was held in accordance with the combat training plan of the Pacific Fleet.

As part of the exercise, the ship search and strike group (KPUG), consisting of two MPKs, performed combat training tasks off the coast of Kamchatka to search for a mock enemy submarine together with the Pacific Fleet Aviation.

One of the nuclear submarines of the Pacific Fleet’s Submarine Force was involved in the role of a simulated enemy submarine.

A detachment of small anti-submarine ships, in cooperation with the crew of the Ka-27PL anti-submarine helicopter, conducted a joint search for the submarine, after which the combat crews of the ships worked out the algorithm of actions for the use of rocket depth charges and torpedo weapons.

Also during the exercise, the crews of the MPK “Ust-Ilimsk” and “Kholmsk” conducted a complex of ship training in communications, anti-sabotage defense and damage control.
