Today in Murmansk, a large hydrographic boat (BGC) “Grigory Shadrin”, built by one of the oldest enterprises of the industrial complex, a developer and serial manufacturer of instruments for aviation, astronautics, medicine, diving, firefighting and emergency rescue services will be launched into the Kola Bay of the Barents Sea , – by the KAMPO company.

The boat is intended for the hydrographic service of the Northern Fleet. At the beginning of autumn, after completion of the outfitting work, a complex of tests of the boat will begin in the Kola Bay and in the Barents Sea, which will last for several weeks. Then the boat will be admitted to the hydrographic vessels of the Northern Fleet.

Its laying took place on August 24, 2020 at the shipbuilding plant of KAMPO JSC in the Moscow region. In early July, the boat’s block modules were delivered by road to the completion site – to the Murmansk shipyard, where its ceremonial launching will take place.

The ceremony will be attended by representatives of the command of the Northern Fleet and the shipyard.

Large hydrographic boat of project 23370G “Grigory Shadrin” became the third modular vessel of this project, built for the Navy. The first boat of the series “Mikhail Kazansky” entered the Baltic Fleet, and the second boat “Alexander Firsov” serves in the Black Sea Fleet.

BGK project 23370G “Grigory Shadrin” is named in honor of the honored hydrographer Grigory Ilyich Shadrin, who made a significant contribution to the development and maintenance of navigation and hydrographic support of the operations of the Navy and the safety of navigation.

The vessel is designed to carry out pilotage and certain types of hydrographic work, such as setting (shooting) and maintenance of floating warning signs, delivery of service personnel, repair crews, food, fuel and other cargo to facilities located on unequipped coast, operational sounding of depths in places of setting signs using a sounding echo sounder.

The displacement of the boat at full load is 146 tons, the length and width are 24.2 and 8.5 m, respectively. Full speed – 11.5 knots, cruising range – 600 miles. The seaworthiness of the boat is limited by the roughness of the sea at 4 points, and the autonomy in terms of water and food supplies when working on board 11 crew members and hydrographs is five days.
