In St. Petersburg, on the basis of the Pushkin airfield, a training was held for the rescue paratrooper group of a separate helicopter regiment of the Leningrad Army of the Air Force and the Air Defense of the Western Military District.

The servicemen made parachute jumps to delay the opening of the backpack and landing on a landing area of ​​limited dimensions.

The exercise was performed at an altitude of 1.7 thousand meters, where after 20 seconds of free fall, the parachute opens and lands at a given point.

The jumps were made with special-purpose parachute systems “Arbalet-1”, designed to perform special tasks with landing on unprepared sites in adverse weather conditions.

During the training, 10 flights of the Mi-8 MTV-5 multipurpose helicopter were made, more than 30 parachute jumps were made.
