By voting, Active Citizen users will choose a name for the polar bear transported from Yakutia to Moscow.

IN “Active citizen” started new vote… Its participants choose a name for the polar bear, which was brought to the capital’s zoo from Yakutia. The voting participants were offered two options. The first name is Tompa, in consonance with the name of the Tompon region, where the animal was found. The second – Aitalina, translated from the Yakut language, this name means “the fate of the journey.” Also, users taking part in the vote can propose their own options.

The she-bear was transported to the capital at the end of May. When they found her, she was exhausted and could not hunt on her own. Now the animal is under the supervision of specialists and feels much better. Videos about the rescue of a bear and a new life at the Moscow Zoo can be viewed on the voting page.

The Active Citizen project for online voting appeared in 2014. During this time, more than five million people have joined it, of which almost two million will be in 2020. Participants determine which streets, courtyards and parks need to be improved, how city polyclinics, libraries, multifunctional centers should operate, and also choose events for festivals and celebrations. Since the start of the project, Muscovites have taken part in more than 4.9 thousand votes. Decisions supported by a majority vote are implemented in the city.

You can find out what has appeared in Moscow or has changed thanks to the voting on online map… More than 1.6 thousand objects have already been applied there. And in the heading “Pulse of the Capital” it is possible to assess the changes that have taken place in Moscow. Also, from the end of 2020, “active citizens” have the opportunity to send the points accumulated in the project to charity.
