In accordance with the plan to celebrate the 91st anniversary of the formation of the Airborne Forces on July 30, 2021, a solemn ritual of laying flowers at the monument to the paratroopers who died in the line of military duty took place on Suvorovskaya Square in Moscow.
The events were attended by the Chief of Staff of the Airborne Forces, Colonel-General Yevgeny Ustinov, veterans of the Airborne Forces, representatives of state and public organizations, as well as cadets of the Ryazan Higher Airborne Command School named after General of the Army V.F. Margelov and servicemen of the Guards Formation of the Air landing troops.
“Today, on the eve of the 91st anniversary of the formation of the Airborne Forces, we hold solemn rituals of laying flowers at the monuments to the paratroopers who died in the line of duty and at all the burial places of our military friends, thereby paying tribute to the memory of all those who did not return from the local wars and military conflicts in the name of our Motherland “- noted the Chief of Staff of the Airborne Forces, Colonel-General Yevgeny Ustinov.
At the end of the laying, the guard of honor of the Preobrazhensky regiment passed by the monuments.
The event was held in accordance with the requirements for the prevention of a new coronavirus infection with strict adherence to a set of measures to counter the threat of COVID-19.
