At the Pogonovo training ground in the Voronezh Region, an exercise was conducted with the tank subdivisions of the Vislenskaya Division of the Combined Arms Army of the Western Military District (ZVO) to combat enemy anti-tank subunits.

During the event, the servicemen had to hit targets that imitated tanks, infantry fighting vehicles and enemy manpower in the face of active opposition from the crews of anti-tank missile systems. To this end, the servicemen improved their orientation and movement skills in difficult unfamiliar terrain, the use of landscape visual advantages and natural terrain shelters.

To successfully complete the combat training mission, the tankers had to move in two equal groups alternating, covering each other from dynamically appearing targets. Approaching the camouflaged anti-tank missile systems at a distance of about 500 meters, the tank crews destroyed the remaining forces of the “enemy”.

About 120 tankers of the Vistula division of the combined arms army of the Western Military District were involved in the exercise, about 25 T-72B3 tanks were involved.
