Servicemen of the electronic warfare (EW) subunits of the Central Military District (CVO) during an exercise in Siberia thwarted the offensive of a simulated enemy, suppressing the sources of radio emissions.

In the course of practical actions, the calculations of the EW systems “Borisoglebsk” and “Zhitel” made a march to the designated area, using means of electronic reconnaissance and electronic warfare, they searched for the sources of radio emission of the imaginary enemy in order to identify the most important objects and their communication channels.

Further, the EW specialists intercepted information about the enemy’s actions and installed radio interference in order to disrupt the control system of the units, also drowned out the control channels for unmanned aerial vehicles and GPS navigation, which led to the loss of communication between the conditional enemy and his control points.

In addition, the servicemen practiced repelling the enemy’s reconnaissance and reconnaissance group, which set up an ambush along the route of the military equipment convoy.

In total, more than 300 military personnel took part in the exercise, about 30 units of military equipment were involved.
