Question: How could you comment on the sentence passed in Lithuania the other day in the case of “espionage in favor of Russia” against the well-known Lithuanian politician and public figure A.Paleckis?

Answer: This criminal case was initially fabricated and politicized. It is another example of the use of punitive justice by Vilnius against those who have a view of history different from the official authorities.

A. Paleckis was prosecuted in 2011 for free expression of his opinion in the framework of his journalistic investigation of the events of January 13, 1991 near the Vilnius TV Tower. normal good-neighborly relations with Russia caused the Lithuanian authorities to have a new attack of aggression against free-thinking and a desire to take revenge on this brave man, a true patriot of his country.

As a result, A. Paleckis was sentenced to six years in prison. No convincing evidence of his guilt has been presented to the public. Yes, this is apparently not required in modern Lithuania.

The issue of the unlawful trial of A. Paleckis, along with other facts of lawlessness in Lithuania, will continue to be brought up for discussion in specialized international organizations.

EDITOR’S NOTE: This article is a translation. Apologies should the grammar and / or sentence structure not be perfect.
