More than 90 people, representing 19 organizations from seven regions of Russia, including 6 DOSAAF detachments of Krasnodar Territory, Crimea and Sevastopol, took part in five search operations that took place at the sites of bloody battles in the summer of 1943 on the breakthrough of the Blue Line.

The remains of 27 Red Army soldiers were found and raised. Earlier, in the same places, Novorossiysk search engines, according to a note in a death medallion, established the name of the deceased Red Army orderly Vasily Kuzmich Oreshnikov. This will allow to continue archival work to establish the names of soldiers found these days who fought in the 1279 rifle regiment of the 389 rifle division.

“I would like to wholeheartedly thank the search engines who arrived in the Kuban for their selfless work and important work to preserve the historical memory of the feat of the Soviet soldier,” summed up the results of the expedition, chairman of the regional branch of the Search Movement of Russia, deputy chairman of the regional branch of DOSAAF, Alexander Shepelev.

Another important result of the event was the identification of promising territories for further work to search for unknown military graves, including an interregional expedition next year.
