The competition was held online.

Young Muscovites won four medals at the IV International School Olympiad in Economics. Gold was taken by Sofia Pirogova from school No. 57. Silver was awarded to Mikhail Gryaznov from the school of the Center for Pedagogical Excellence, Margarita Shevtsova from the Second School Lyceum and Maxim Filippov from the Higher School of Economics Lyceum.

The competition was held online from July 26 to August 1. Together with Muscovites at the Olympiad, Russia was represented by a schoolboy from the Chelyabinsk region, he became a silver medalist.

The team was formed based on the results of the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren and additional selection. To get into the national team, candidates had to complete tasks in economics and financial literacy in English, as well as record a video with a business case solution. The same sections were presented at the International Olympiad.

This year Latvia was the organizer of the competition. Teams from 44 countries fought for the victory. Details of the competition and its results have been published on the official site.

Simultaneously with the Olympiad for the same tasks, the Open Track competition took place. Anyone outside the main classification could participate in it. 10th grade pupils from Moscow schools took part in the Open Track.

Teenagers can get basic knowledge of economics in school circles and online courses in the capital Center for Excellence… More experienced participants are invited to classes to prepare the Moscow team for the All-Russian Olympiad in Economics. Throughout the year, they listen to weekly lectures and seminars, and also take part in training camps. In addition, everyone can try their hand at the Moscow Olympiads in Economics and Financial Literacy.

The International School of Economics Olympiad is held for participants aged 16-18 who speak English. Each country is represented by a team of five. The competition was first held in 2018 in Moscow. The competition is not included in the list of international Olympiads in which Russian schoolchildren officially participate.
