Servicemen of the peacekeeping unit and the special purpose brigade of the Central Military District, as part of the cultural and educational program of the joint Russian-Uzbek exercise, visited the state museums of Uzbekistan in the city of Termez.

During the excursions, the personnel visited the museum of archeology and the museum of culture and history of the Surkhandarya region. The servicemen got acquainted with the history of Termez – one of the most ancient cities on the planet, which is more than 2.5 thousand years old. The guides showed stone tools of labor created more than 40 thousand years ago, sculptures from the beginning of the first millennium of our era, wall paintings of the 8th century and other exhibits telling about the history of the republic.

During the joint exercise, servicemen will perform combat training tasks to ensure the territorial integrity of the state. The exercise will be attended by about 1.5 thousand servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan at the Termez training ground, it will last until August 10 with the involvement of military equipment and aviation.
