Also, the Olympic tennis champion in doubles, winner of three Grand Slam tournaments in doubles and one tournament in mixed doubles, winner of the final WTA tournament in 2016 in doubles, winner of 22 WTA tournaments (three of them in singles) Elena Vesnina, winner of the “silver” in mixed doubles in Tokyo, winner of the VII World War Games and II European Games, winner of the 2019 World Cup, European champion Lieutenant Yulia Zykova and winner of the World War Games (2015), two-time bronze medalist of the European Championship (2013), silver medalist of the Russian Championship (2015) Lieutenant Yulia Karimova, who won silver and bronze medals at the 2020 Games in three-position rifle shooting from 50 meters.

Sheremetyevo welcomed army judokas – winners of bronze medals of the Tokyo Olympics – bronze medalist of the European Championship, silver medalist of the Universiade Madina Taymazova, medalist of the World Championships, bronze medalist of the VII World War Games, winner and medalist of international tournaments Lieutenant Niyaz Ilyasov and medalist and World Championship winner, winner European championship medalist, silver medalist of the CISM world championship (personally and in team) Senior Sergeant Tamerlan Bashaev, swimmer Martin Malyutin, who won silver in Japan in the 4×200 meter freestyle relay team.

A total of 95 Russian Olympians returned from Tokyo on Monday, including representatives of the Russian national tennis, BMX cycling, athletics, swimming, triathlon, bullet shooting, judo and fencing teams.

The team flew to Moscow on a direct flight from the capital of Japan. At the airport, the army athletes were greeted by relatives and friends, almost a hundred fans and students of CSKA sports schools, as well as representatives of numerous media outlets.
