As part of planned combat training exercises, the military personnel of the logistics unit (MTO) of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh worked out the tactics of conducting modern combat at the Stepanakert training ground.

“In order to introduce non-standard training for servicemen of repair units, the implementation of complex firing exercises by the personnel of the repair platoon was tested. The personnel were introduced into a certain tactical situation, the solution of which was implied by the implementation of three tactical tasks – overcoming mine-explosive obstacles, inflicting fire damage on small groups of a simulated enemy and evacuating a wrecked armored vehicle during the battle. The servicemen coped with the assigned tasks, showing a high coherence of the crews. The objectives of the lesson were achieved, according to their results, the personnel were assessed according to the results of standards, ”said the head of the lesson Vyacheslav Terentyev.

During the lesson, the drivers of the BTR-80 armored personnel carriers in the mountainous terrain improved their skills in extreme driving at maximum speed in convoys through an explosive obstacle.

On the tactical field, in conditions as close as possible to combat, the servicemen repulsed the attack of a conditional sabotage group of the enemy, and using the BREM-K, the repair specialists quickly evacuated the damaged vehicles to the field assembly point to further restore their combat effectiveness.

“In a combat situation, you need to act quickly and clearly. Drive up to the car, hook it correctly and quickly evacuate it from the battlefield, and it depends not only on me, but also on the entire crew, ”explained Arsen Ismailov, a spokesman for the Russian peacekeeping contingent.

In practical exercises, blank ammunition was actively used for the latest Kalashnikov AK-12 assault rifles and imitation tools – hand-held smoke grenades RGD-P.

Despite the round-the-clock duty of Russian peacekeepers at observation posts, the command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent has planned classes on the main subjects of combat training of peacekeeping units, including tactical, tactical and special, as well as driving combat vehicles and other special vehicles.

In total, about 100 servicemen of the Russian peacekeeping contingent were involved in combat training.

In accordance with the agreements specified in the joint statement of the President of the Russian Federation, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, from 00:00 Moscow time on November 10, 2020, a complete ceasefire and all hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh were announced.
