The crews of the MiG-31BM supersonic fighter-interceptors of the aviation division of the Central Military District (CVO) during a tactical flight exercise in the Krasnoyarsk Territory worked out countering the air targets of a simulated enemy as part of combat pairs.

The pilots of the combat aircraft have established cooperation at all stages of the combat training missions to intercept and destroy airspace violators. The crews practiced the simultaneous twin takeoff of the MiG-31BM fighter-interceptors, maneuvering at medium and high altitudes, maintaining battle formations, changing the “master-slave” roles, flying at reduced intervals and distances, paired attack of an air target and forced landing. Particular attention was paid to the interaction of the crews during the deployment of a single radar field for airspace monitoring using the onboard radar station “Zaslon-M”.

The mastery of pair interaction in the performance of combat training missions made it possible to improve the professional qualifications of the flight personnel and the combat readiness of the formation.

The tactical flight exercise involved 11 MiG-31BM fighter-interceptors and about 200 military personnel from among the flight, engineering and technical personnel, as well as the flight control and support group.
