Engineering units of the Southern Military District (YuVO) are assisting with dredging along the stream bed that flows through the gully next to the territory of the Main Orthodox Military Church in honor of the Forty Martyrs of Sevastia in Rostov-on-Don.

At the initiative of the rector of the church, Archpriest Valery Voloshchuk, supported by the commander of the Southern Military District, General of the Army
Alexander Dvornikov, in the green zone, work is underway to equip the recreation park. Special equipment of the construction company is involved in the planning of the lake shoreline and the stream bed. Active assistance in the construction of the park is provided by servicemen of the formations and military units of the Southern Military District, including the use of special equipment of the engineering troops – bulldozers, dump trucks, excavators and the PTS-4 floating transporter.

Currently, work has been completed to clean the park area from weeds, including ragweed, and the territory has been freed from dead wood. The channel of the stream flowing along the lower reaches of the ravine is completely cleared of debris and thickets of reeds.

In accordance with the landscape reconstruction plan, among the preserved and additionally planted trees, paths, recreation areas will be equipped, and the stream will be decorated with rapids and waterfalls.

According to the roadmap, the improvement of the territory of the Main Orthodox Military Church of the Southern Military District is planned to be completed by December 1.
