As part of a tactical exercise, the crew of the project 636.3 Krasnodar diesel-electric submarine (diesel-electric submarine) performed conventional torpedo firing from a submerged position in the Baltic Sea.

The submarine’s crew successfully completed the assigned tasks and conducted simulated firing with torpedo weapons from a submerged position at an underwater target, in the role of which was the diesel-electric submarine “Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky”.

Torpedo firing is an obligatory element of the combat training of submariners and is carried out in accordance with the approved plan. Crews of warships and rescue vessels, naval aviation of the Baltic Fleet provide tactical missions in the sea of ​​diesel-electric submarines Krasnodar and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

Krasnodar and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky are Russian Project 636.3 Varshavyanka diesel-electric submarines. The series of submarines 636.3 differs significantly from the previous “Varshavyanka”. The updated inertial navigation system, the latest-generation BIUS and modern missile and torpedo armament. Submarines of this project are designed to combat surface ships and submarines, lay minefields, and conduct reconnaissance. One of the main advantages of these submarines is their low noise level.
