Before the start of the academic year, freshmen of the Chelyabinsk branch of the Military Educational and Scientific Center of the Air Force “Air Force Academy” received instructions for military service to the Fatherland from representatives of religious confessions.

The meeting took place at a military airfield. Archpriest Igor Shestakov, secretary of the Chelyabinsk diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church, and Rinat-khazrat Raev, chief mufti of the Ural Federal District, addressed the cadets and their commanders. The representatives of the clergy noted the role of collective unity, which constitutes the strength of the Russian army.

“We are glad that the Chelyabinsk Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church and the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Chelyabinsk and Kurgan regions honor good traditions and responded to our request to give instructions to the freshmen of the branch. All of them a week ago were applicants who came to enter Chelyabinsk from all over the country. And right now it is very important to help cadets adapt to new conditions for them. To unite the guys, to give them the opportunity to ask their questions and get clear answers to them, “said Major General Igor Shvedov, head of the VUTS VVC VVA branch in Chelyabinsk, Honored Military Pilot of the Russian Federation.

This year, more than 400 young men were enrolled in the first year of the VUTS VVA branch in Chelyabinsk in the specialties of “navigator” and “combat command officer”. In the next month, the cadets will have to undergo combined arms training.
