Today the naval forces of the Northern Fleet have begun practicing practical actions in the Barents Sea as part of a command and staff training in command and control of forces and troops under the leadership of the commander of the Northern Fleet, Hero of Russia, Admiral Alexander Moiseyev.

As part of the plan of practical actions in the Barents Sea, a naval strike group has been deployed consisting of the Peter the Great nuclear-powered missile cruiser and the Rassvet small missile ship.

Naval sailors have worked out a number of introductions, including on the organization of interaction with fighter and anti-submarine aircraft when creating areas of restricted access.

The tasks of organizing the defense of the island territories of the Russian Federation were carried out by the crew of the large landing ship “Georgy Pobedonosets”, which delivered raid groups of motorized rifle formations to the designated coastal areas of the Novaya Zemlya archipelago.

In the waters of the Barents and White Seas, a number of tactical exercises are conducted by the crews of ships of the formations for the protection of the water area.

At various stages of the command and staff training, nuclear and diesel submarines, ships of the Kola Flotilla of diverse forces and formations of missile ships, support vessels, army corps units, aircraft, military and special equipment of the Air Force and Air Defense Army of the Northern Fleet are involved.

The practical part of the training will last for several days. In total, more than 10 thousand personnel, more than 100 units of armored vehicles, up to 15 aircraft, about 30 warships, submarines and support vessels take part in the training.
