The corresponding decree was signed by Sergei Sobyanin.

The Moscow government has allocated a subsidy in the amount of 35,097.8 thousand rubles to the Sretensky stavropegic monastery for the restoration of unique frescoes of the early 18th century. Sergei Sobyanin signed the corresponding decree, and also wrote about it on his page in the social network “VKontakte”.

The stone cathedral of the Sretensky Monastery is a federal cultural heritage site. It is located at 19 Bolshaya Lubyanka Street, Building 1. The cathedral was erected in 1679 on the site of a wooden church that had stood here since 1397.

Later, arched porches were added to the cathedral from the north, south and west, and in 1706, a southern chapel in honor of the Nativity of John the Baptist. In the same years, the western porch of the temple was converted into a porch.
