We will try to show our best side and everything that the Brazilian paratroopers are capable of. And the main contenders for victory, of course, we consider the combined team of the Airborne Forces of Russia “- said in conclusion the head of the Brazilian delegation.

On August 22, in Ryazan, at the Spartak stadium, the solemn opening ceremony of the Airborne Platoon competition will take place, which will be launched by the Commander of the Airborne Forces, Hero of Russia, Colonel-General Andrei Serdyukov. The competition will last until September 2 and will be held in four stages: the first – “Landing with a platoon, gathering at the landing site, making a 10 km march”, the second – “Individual race in combat vehicles” and “Biathlon in a platoon, with shooting from a standstill from various positions from small arms and grenade launchers, without crews “, the third -” Pursuit race in combat vehicles “and” Orientation by choice in the squads (patrol race), without crews “, the fourth -” Relay of squads with overcoming the strip obstacles, shooting from small arms and grenade launchers ”,“ Hand-to-hand combat ”,“ Relay on combat vehicles ”,“ Individual parachute jump for accuracy ”.

In total, about 450 military personnel from 18 countries are expected to participate in the competition as part of national army teams.

The “Airborne Platoon” field training competition among the airborne units is held within the framework of the International Army Games for the seventh time. The Tula Guards Airborne Force is hosting the international stage of the competition at the Dubrovichi training ground for the second time.

The first competition was held here in 2015. In 2016, it took place at the Rayevsky training ground of the Novorossiysk Guards Airborne Assault Mountain Formation. In 2017, paratroopers competed in the People’s Republic of China, and from 2018 to 2020, the competition was held at the Zavelichye training ground of the Pskov Guards Airborne Assault Formation and at the Strugi Red Airborne Forces training ground in the Pskov region.

In all competitions, the Russian team took the lead, with the exception of 2017, where the Chinese paratroopers won.
