The Russian team, which arrived to participate in the international dog training competition “True Friend”, is completing preparations for the stages.

The servicemen practiced firing a Kalashnikov assault rifle at the shooting range at the military academy in the city of Shershel from three positions: lying, kneeling and standing.

Participants performed firing from specially purchased AKC assault rifles, which were brought to normal combat and shot in the previous training session. One of the features of the weapon is the 7.62mm caliber cartridge.

Marina Zhokhova, the best shooter of the all-army stage in the individual classification, noted: “In general, the assault rifle is not much different from ours. Bullets also hit the target. It was difficult to adapt to the stock, it is not as stable as that of our rifles, but after a few trainings we got used to it. “

She also added that after several trainings, all members of the national team show excellent results in shooting with new weapons and are ready for the stage.

Before arriving in Algeria, the Russian team spent several months preparing for shooting at the 470th training center for service dog breeding under the leadership of Captain Alexei Bakhtin.

For reference:

During the competition, each competitor fires five single shots from three positions at a chest target located at a distance of 100 meters. The target appears in the same place at intervals of 15 seconds for 50 seconds for shooting from a prone position, for 60 seconds for kneeling, for 70 seconds for standing. The goal of the exercise is to score the most points.
