Military climbers from Russia and India in preparation for the international stage of the International Army Games-2021 competition “Elbrus Ring” overcame mountain rivers in Kabardino-Balkaria.

Teams of the two countries in full complement completed a parallel and hinged crossing over the Baksan mountain river along parallel stretched ropes and set up a hinged crossing over the Terskol river, the width of which was 6 meters, and the current speed up to 10 m / s.

Military climbers equipped a hinged crossing over the river, demonstrated skills in choosing supports on the river bank, taking into account mountainous and rocky terrain, building railings, organizing belaying and crossing as part of a group with full equipment. On average, it took a team 10-15 seconds to ferry one person to the opposite bank. Backpacks were then transported by the same method.

Teams of military climbers from Russia, China, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Abkhazia, South Ossetia, Uzbekistan and India are also taking part in the preparation for the competition. Before the start of the International Army Games, the mountain divisions of the participating countries will receive the necessary equipment, undergo acclimatization, conduct classes to improve the individual training of military personnel and coordinate the divisions, study the route of the competition, and work out the organization of rescue in the mountains.

The grand opening of the international stage of the Elbrus Ring competition will take place on August 22 in the village of Terskol in the Elbrus region.
