Five BCL tunnels remain in operation now. All of them are planned to be completed by the end of the year.

Moscow metro builders have begun sinking the last, 70th tunnel of the Big Circle Line (BCL). It will connect the Klenovy Boulevard and Kashirskaya stations. Wrote about it Sergei Sobyanin on your page in the social network “Instagram”.

“One of the main development projects of the Moscow transport hub is the Big Circle Line. When we complete it completely (and this day is already close), a new history of Moscow transport will begin, ”he noted.

According to Sergei Sobyanin, BCL will allow Muscovites to significantly save time while traveling. They do not need to travel to the city center to change from one radial line to another. “The route from Yugo-Zapadnaya to Kuntsevskaya, for example, will be reduced from 43 minutes to 20,” the Moscow Mayor said.

In total, the metro builders have five tunnels in operation today. Two tunnels are being laid between Klenovy Boulevard and Kashirskaya. In addition, tunneling is underway on the section from Nagatinsky Zaton to Klenovy Boulevard (70 percent completed), from Pechatniki to Nagatinsky Zaton (half completed), as well as a connecting line to the Aminevskoye depot.

“We expect to finish all the tunnels at the BCL by the end of this year, then we will complete the remaining stations. In the future, we will be able to connect new radial lines to the BCL: Rublevo-Arkhangelskaya – at the Narodnoe Opolchenie station, Troitskaya – at Novatorskaya, Biryulevskaya – at Klenovy Boulevard, “added Sergei Sobyanin.

The construction of the Big Circle Line is the largest metro construction project. The new ring will be 70 kilometers long and will have 31 stations and three depots. It will connect existing and prospective radial lines up to 10 kilometers from the Circle Line. From BCL stations it will be possible to transfer to 20 stations of other metro lines. In addition, there will be transfers to the MCC, MCD-1 and MCD-2 and other railway lines.

12 stations of the Big Circle Line are already open to passengers. There are plans to open 10 more stations this year.
