The solemn military ritual of the commander’s farewell to the St. George’s banner of the unit took place in the Kamyshin separate guards airborne assault Don Cossack formation.

During the solemn ritual, the commander of the guard unit, Colonel Andrei Kondrashkin, enrolled as a student of the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, said goodbye to the St. George’s banner of the unit.

The official farewell ceremony for the Banner was attended by representatives of the Command of the Airborne Forces, headed by the Deputy Commander of the Airborne Forces for Logistics, Major General Nariman Timergazin, the administration of the Volgograd Region and the city of Kamyshin.

The speakers noted his achievements and merits as a unit commander, organizational talent, spiritual generosity and kindness in relations with subordinates and wished him success in his studies at the Military Academy of the General Staff. Major General Nariman Timergazin, Deputy Commander of the Airborne Forces for Logistics, made parting words on behalf of the Airborne Forces Command, who expressed gratitude to the paratroopers for their joint service and noted the significant contribution of the Guards Colonel Andrei Kondrashkin to the development and preservation of the best traditions of the legendary unit Airborne Forces.

In response to the guard, Colonel Andrei Kondrashkin thanked the personnel for their joint service and wished the military unit success at the new place of permanent deployment in the Republic of Crimea.

Throughout their combat path, the guardsmen of the Don Cossack unit have always been an example of courage, military honor and valor, more than once proving their loyalty to the Airborne Forces and the Motherland.

The commander’s farewell ceremony with the Combat Banner of the formation ended with the traditional solemn march of the paratroopers.

Guard Colonel Andrey Vladimirovich KONDRASHKIN graduated from the Ryazan Higher Airborne Command School in 2001.

After graduation, he held positions from the commander of an airborne platoon of the Guards Airborne Regiment of the Guards Airborne Division to the Deputy Commander of the Guards Airborne Assault Division. Graduated from the Combined Arms Academy of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in 2013.

Since March 2020, he has been the commander of the Kamyshinsky Separate Guards Airborne Assault Don Cossack Formation.
