At the Brest training ground of the 38th separate guards airborne assault brigade of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, located in the Brest region, a draw was held for teams participating in the Polar Star international competition, during which the sequence of teams’ performances at the first stage of the competition was distributed. The Russian special forces will have to perform under the number “three”.
The first stage of the competition among special forces units is “Checking the readiness of the personnel of special forces to perform combat training tasks”, in which participants perform individual and group exercises. In the course of checking individual training, the practical implementation of standards and exercises by military personnel from various types of small arms is checked. In the course of group exercises, the level of coordination of special forces units is determined when landing on guided parachute systems of the “Wing” type for accuracy, storming a building, conducting hand-to-hand combat without weapons and other combat training missions.
The international competition “Polar Star” among the special forces will be held on the territory of the Republic of Belarus on the basis of the Brestsky training ground from August 22 to September 4 as part of the VII International Army Games. It will be attended by teams of the armed forces of nine states – Russia, Venezuela, India, Iran, China, Morocco, Pakistan, Uzbekistan and the Republic of Belarus.
The Russian team at international competitions will be represented by the winners of the all-army stage of the “Polar Star-2021” competition – the best scouts of the special forces of the Airborne Forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. In addition, the Rosgvardia team will take part in the competition on an out-of-competition basis.
