In the Elbrus region, on the basis of the Center for Mountain Training and Survival (Terskol settlement), the servicemen of Abkhazia, in preparation for the competitions of mountain units “Elbrus Ring” of the International Army Games (ARMI-2021), performed a special task “Climbing a rock-climbing wall”.

During the training, the servicemen of the high-mountainous unit of Abkhazia tested their strength at the climbing wall, which is about 20 meters high.

Servicemen from nine countries also take part in the preparation for the competition: Russia, China, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Abkhazia, South Ossetia, Uzbekistan and India.

More than 90 people will compete for the title of the best mining unit, from the units involved in performing tasks in the highlands. The Russian team is represented by servicemen of the Airborne Forces, who won the all-army stage of the Russian Armed Forces in July this year.

International competitions for the best alpine unit will be held from August 22 to September 5, 2021 and will end with a march in high altitude conditions, overcoming various forms of mountainous terrain in an autonomous mode, climbing to the top of Mount Elbrus as part of the unit.

The grand opening of the international stage of the Elbrus Ring competition will take place on August 22 in the village of Terskol in the Elbrus region.
