The combat crews of the S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile systems and the Pantsir S-1 anti-aircraft missile and cannon systems of the Baltic Fleet air defense formations during a planned exercise successfully repelled a massive missile and air strike of a simulated enemy.

As part of the exercise, the issue of covering ground facilities and infrastructure from air strikes by a simulated enemy aircraft, which raided the protected area in the entire range of altitudes and speeds, was worked out.

Su-24 bombers, Su-27 fighters, Su-30SM multipurpose fighters, as well as Mi-8, Mi-24 and Ka-27 helicopters played the role of a mock enemy.

In the course of completing the tasks, all targets were timely detected, escorted and destroyed when entering the affected area of the complexes. In the course of repelling the strike, the combat crews made more than 30 imitation launches against real air targets of the imaginary enemy, represented by the naval aviation of the fleet.

More than 200 servicemen took part in the exercise, about 20 units of military and special equipment were involved, as well as over 10 units of aircraft and helicopters of the Baltic Fleet’s naval aviation unit.

The planned exercise will continue with the next simulation firing of the crews of the anti-aircraft missile systems of the air defense of the Baltic Fleet, also aimed at practicing actions to repel a strike.

Along the way, as part of the exercise, the radio engineering units of the air defense of the Baltic Fleet, equipped with modern radar stations and complexes of automation equipment, fulfill the standards for deploying radars, detecting air targets and issuing information about them to the command posts of anti-aircraft missile units.
