At the request of the Governor of the Tula Region Alexei Dyumin on the issue of assistance in the restoration of emergency bridge structures in the settlements of Belevsky, Bogoroditsky, Venevsky, Plavsky, Chernsky and Shchekinsky districts of the Tula Region and the decision of the Minister of Defense of Russia General of the Army Sergei Shoigu by forces of 462 separate bridge battalions and 299 separate of the road commandant battalion of the 69th separate brigade of material and technical support of the Western Military District, within the framework of a special tactical exercise using the service means of the road troops and consumables supplied by the Government of the Tula Region, five road and two pedestrian bridges with a total length of more than 250 running meters were erected ahead of schedule.

The fulfillment of this task made it possible to provide year-round transport links between socially significant objects and districts of the Tula region in 16 settlements where more than 4 thousand people live.

“Significantly ahead of the construction schedule – from June 5 to July 20 – the personnel of 462 separate bridge battalion and 299 separate road commandant battalion passed the exam for professional training and skill with honor,” General of the Army Dmitry Bulgakov said in his speech.

“And in total, since 2018, in the Tula region, military logistics units have erected 26 bridges with a total length of 1,250 running meters.

Such a visible unity of the army and the people all year round ensured transport links between socially significant objects and districts of the region in 56 settlements, where almost 25 thousand people live, ”added the deputy head of the military department.

“These bridges are of great importance for the residents of nearby settlements. They will also significantly reduce the arrival times of ambulances, fire brigades and other services.

Thanks to the Ministry of Defense of Russia, personally to Sergei Kuzhugetovich Shoigu and Dmitry Vitalievich Bulgakov for their timely assistance! We expect that in the coming years, cooperation with the Ministry of Defense, including in building bridges, will continue, ”said Alexey Dyumin.

During the ceremony, the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, General of the Army Dmitry Bulgakov and the Governor of the Tula Region, Alexei Dyumin, launched the movement along the bridge, along which a convoy of special equipment in the amount of twenty units passed.

In the final part of the ceremony, General of the Army Dmitry Bulgakov presented awards and valuable gifts to the personnel who distinguished themselves during the construction.
