Green spaces have been preserved near the station and an additional 24,000 shrubs have been planted.

The specialists of the municipal economy complex have completed the main works on the improvement of the territory near the Zyuzino station of the Big Circle Line (BCL) of the metro. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Communal Services and Improvement Peter Biryukov.

“With the opening of new stations, the number of pedestrians on the adjacent streets is increasing, so it was necessary to make this area comfortable and functional both for local residents and for those who come here to work or study,” he said. “Last year, Kakhovka Street entered the improvement zone; this year, a section of Perekopskaya Street from the intersection with Kakhovka to Sevastopolsky Avenue was added to it”.

During the work, the overhead cables were removed underground, the sidewalks were tidied up, the asphalt-concrete pavement of the roadway was replaced and parking pockets were made.

For the convenience of citizens along the road to the new station, benches and 125 lanterns with energy-efficient lamps were installed.

“Greening plays a very important role in the improvement of public spaces,” stressed Pyotr Biryukov. “All green spaces were preserved on the territory near the metro station and the necessary measures were taken to care for them, an additional 64,000 square meters of lawn were laid out and 24,000 shrubs were planted.”

The renovation of two modern playgrounds is nearing completion on Perekopskaya Street. In the near future, new play equipment will be installed on them and a traumatic rubber crumb coating will be made.

After completion of work around the stations Zyuzino, Vorontsovskaya, Novatorskaya, Prospekt Vernadsky and Michurinsky Prospekt, a seven-kilometer walking route will appear, connecting the main streets with popular parks – Vorontsovskiy and 50th Anniversary of October.
