Today, within the framework of the scientific and business program of the International Military-Technical Forum “Army-2021”, a conference “Humanitarian and socio-cultural aspects of the development and application of artificial intelligence technologies” was held. The event was organized by the Russian Ministry of Defense and the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology.

The Russian Ministry of Defense is at the forefront of technological development, and all the most advanced developments and achievements are traditionally presented at the International Military-Technical Forum. Thanks to this, promising technologies become available not only for the army, but also for the wide scientific and business community of the country.

Artificial intelligence, as one of the most key areas of technological breakthrough, on the first day of the forum brought together a wide representation of specialists from various fields of activity and fields of knowledge. The conference was attended by representatives of the leadership of the military department and other law enforcement agencies, federal executive and legislative bodies, industry, science, medicine, education, business, the media, leading experts in the development and implementation of artificial intelligence technologies.

The conference participants focused on the need to consolidate and combine the efforts of representatives of the public sector, scientific and expert circles of business in order to develop common (agreed) approaches to the humanitarian aspects of the development and application of artificial intelligence technologies in Russia in the interests of Russian society.

The main idea that united all thematic blocks of speeches and discussions at the conference site was to ensure national security in its broadest sense – from the national level to the individual security of an individual and citizen in the era of digital transformation of Russian society.

Such a conceptual discussion with the involvement of leading domestic experts of the entire spectrum of humanitarian issues of the development and application of artificial intelligence technologies was held in Russia for the first time.

According to the conference participants, who discussed the strategy for the development of artificial intelligence in the Russian Federation in many aspects, projects involving the use of these technologies require state expertise and a comprehensive assessment by competent specialists.
