During the exercises in the Tver region, the crews of the 4 ++ Su-35S fighter jets of the Leningrad Army of the Air Force and the Air Defense of the Western Military District (ZVO) forced a simulated helicopter into the state border to land.

Raised on a drill, the crews on duty flew to the area of detection of the conditional intruder, intercepted him using a radar sighting system. Having visually detected the target, the pilots approached the helicopter and via radio communication reported the need to land. After the helicopter crew refused to obey, the fighter pilots performed a number of maneuvers that made it difficult for this aircraft to continue its flight, and also demonstrated their readiness for combat use of aviation weapons. The surrendered conditional violator landed, his crew was detained by the anti-terrorist unit.

More than 10 crews of Su-35 fighters and Mi-8 helicopters took part in the training.
