Volunteers over 55 years old actively participate in social, sports, environmental, patriotic campaigns and events.

More than 100 senior volunteers have joined the summer thematic online meetings and training sessions of the Mosvolonter resource center. Volunteers studied computer literacy, attended yoga classes, and also learned about volunteering.

One of the first online meetings took place in June. At it, experienced volunteers discussed what projects and activities should be included in the federal program “Young at heart”. Participants suggested organizing a series of computer literacy classes, as well as hosting the Silver Glade webinars dedicated to volunteering.

“The community of older volunteers brings together caring Muscovites who are ready to support those who need help. Volunteers participate in the life of the city: they plant trees, sort garbage, help during major citywide events. Since the beginning of the year, 375 senior volunteers have taken part in 71 events coordinated by the Mosvolonter resource center. A series of educational webinars started in July. Online meetings focused on motivation, potential volunteer activities and myths associated with older volunteers. In addition, yoga classes and a webinar were organized for the program participants, where they talked about a healthy lifestyle.

Educational webinars “Computer Lounge” are also held every week for the volunteers of the “Young at Heart” program. Older Muscovites are taught how to use spreadsheets and documents, build charts, install programs, and work with useful gadgets.

You can join the webinars until the end of August. To do this, you need to register in the program “Young at heart”… After registration, the curators will invite all participants to a chat in the messenger, where information about other relevant events is also available.

Novice volunteers will be told about the main principles of volunteering, about their tasks and functions. In addition, we will talk about the organization of volunteer corps and where you can provide assistance. Experienced participants will learn how to competently organize interaction within the community.

For older volunteers, it is also planned to launch the Silver Route program, within which they will conduct cognitive walks through iconic places of the capital, parks and estates for young people and novice volunteers.

In addition, the townspeople can take part in the competition “Volunteer of Moscow – 2021”… They will talk about their activities, and will also be able to participate in educational master classes, meet with experts in the field of volunteering and exchange experiences with like-minded people. They will also receive support from the Moscow Committee for Public Relations and Youth Policy, the Mosvolonter resource center and other partners of the competition.
