In Korla, at the training center of the Land Forces of the People’s Liberation Army of China (PLA), the opening ceremony of the competitions of the International Army Games-2021 was held. This year, three competitions are being held in the People’s Republic of China: “Clear Sky”, in which military personnel of air defense units will compete, “Suvorov Onslaught” – a competition of infantry fighting vehicle crews and “Safe Environment” – a competition of radiation, chemical and biological (RCB ) intelligence.

For the first time, all Russian teams are represented by cadets of higher educational institutions of the Russian Ministry of Defense. Thus, the “Safe Environment” competition team is based on cadets from the Military Academy of Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection (Kostroma). Cadets of the Far Eastern Higher Combined Arms Command Order of the Zhukov School named after Marshal of the Soviet Union K.K. Rokossovsky. The Russian team in the “Clear Sky” competition is represented by cadets of the Military Academy of Military Air Defense (Smolensk) and servicemen of the Central and Eastern Military Districts (Central Military District and Air Defense Forces).

The Russian teams of the Suvorov Onslaught and Clear Sky competitions are the only ones among the participants who will compete in their own domestic technique. For this purpose, BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles and Typhoon-Air Defense combat vehicles were delivered to China. The Russian team of the Safe Environment competition will perform on the equipment provided by the Chinese side.

In total, 17 teams from 7 states (the Republic of Belarus, the Russian Federation, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the People’s Republic of China) arrived at the PLA Ground Forces training center to participate in the 2021 International Army Games.

The 2021 International Army Games will be held from August 22 to September 4 on the territory of 11 states (Russia, Algeria, Armenia, Belarus, Vietnam, Iran, Qatar, Kazakhstan, China, Serbia, Uzbekistan). In total, more than 5 thousand servicemen, consisting of 277 teams from 42 countries, take part in 34 competitions of ARMI-2021.
