In the Republic of Belarus, on the territory of the memorial complex “Brest Fortress-Hero”, a solemn ceremony of opening the international competitions “Sniper Frontier”, “Polar Star” and “Confident Reception” of the VII International Army Games was held, in which teams from 17 countries will take part.

The ceremonial events were attended by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus – First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Belarus, Major General Viktor Gulevich, Commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, Major General Vadim Denisenko, First Deputy Chief of the Main Directorate of Communications of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Major General Valery Tishkov; Deputy Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Alexander Matovnikov.

The participants in the ceremony laid flowers at the memorial to the fallen defenders of the Brest Fortress and honored their memory with a minute of silence.

The Armed Forces of Russia are represented in all three competitions held in the Republic of Belarus. The Russian team at the international marksmanship competition will be represented by the winners of the all-army stage of the Sniper Frontier-2021 competition – the best snipers from the special forces of the Eastern and Western military districts of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. In addition, the teams of the Russian Guard and DOSAAF of Russia participate in the competition on an out-of-competition basis.

In the competitions of the Polar Star special forces groups, Russia will be represented by the best scouts of the special forces of the Airborne Forces. Also, on an out-of-competition basis, the Rosgvardia team will take part in the competition.

The winners of the all-army stage of the “Confident Reception” competition were included in the Russian team at the competition for communications specialists.

International contests “Sniper Frontier”, “Polar Star” will be held on the basis of the Brestsky training ground of the 38th separate guards air assault brigade of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, and the contest “Confident reception” in Minsk. The competitions will be held as part of the VII International Army Games in the Republic of Belarus from August 22 to September 4. Teams from Russia, Belarus, Venezuela, Vietnam, India, Iran, Qatar, China, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Mali, Morocco, Pakistan, Serbia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka will take part in them.

The International Army Games-2021 will be held on the territory of 11 states (Russia, Algeria, Armenia, Belarus, Vietnam, Iran, Qatar, Kazakhstan, China, Serbia, Uzbekistan).

In total, more than 5 thousand servicemen, consisting of 277 teams from 42 countries, take part in 34 competitions of ARMI-2021.
