This will extend the service life of the facility, ensure the safe and trouble-free operation of the utilities laid in it.

Specialists of the municipal services complex carried out work on the reconstruction of one of the largest complexes of communication collectors “Expocentre”.

“The Expocentre complex includes five collectors built in the period from the 1980s to the 2000s, their total length is more than 5.5 kilometers. The measures taken will extend the service life of the facility, ensure the safe and trouble-free operation of utilities laid in it – water and heat supply pipes, electricity and communication cables, ”said the Deputy Mayor of Moscow in the Moscow Government for housing and communal services and improvement

Peter Biryukov.

Specialists carried out work on the restoration of waterproofing and partial replacement of floors with an increase in the bearing capacity of collector building structures. “New ventilation shafts with additional emergency exits have been made. At the mines themselves, metal structures were replaced with flat metal gratings, followed by facing with ceramic granite tiles. This made it possible to organically fit them into the urban landscape, ”noted Pyotr Biryukov.

The head of the municipal economy complex said that more than 240 kilometers of collectors have been reconstructed over the past 10 years within the framework of programs for reconstruction, modernization and technical re-equipment of collector facilities.

“The condition of these facilities is under constant control, a lot of work is being done to modernize the dispatch and control systems,” stressed Pyotr Biryukov. “The total number of security and fire alarm systems installed in collectors has grown by 60 percent since 2011, and gas-air environment control devices more than doubled.”
