Competitions “Forever Alive”, dedicated to the memory of law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty, were held from 18 to 23 August on the basis of the sports shooting complex “Nevsky”. 42 teams took part in the competition: 14 teams from the power structures of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, 26 teams from different regions of Russia and 2 teams from neighboring countries. According to the results of the competition in the team competition among representatives of power structures, the first place was taken by the command of the special forces “Typhoon” of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.

The closing ceremony of the V All-Russian competition was attended by Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg Valery Pikalev, Hero of the Russian Federation Alexei Makhotin, Head of the Department for Management of Special Purpose Departments of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia Oleg Turanov, Head of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region Igor Potapenko, relatives of employees who died in the line of duty, special forces veterans, heads of power structures of Russia and neighboring countries.

Competitions in shooting from military weapons were held from 18 to 23 August on the basis of the sports shooting complex “Nevsky”. This year the tournament was held in a new status: it is included in the unified plan of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, which gives the right to assign sports categories to participants. A total of 42 teams take part in the competition.

Competitions included singles, group, daytime and nighttime exercises. The main tests for the participants were: shooting from behind cover and without it, providing medical assistance, transferring the wounded in difficult conditions, repelling a conditional attack, releasing hostages and neutralizing terrorists, demonstrating physical fitness, meeting shooting standards, overcoming an obstacle course. All ended with the shooting relay “Duel” – the most spectacular and emotional stage. The best in the “Duel” was the team of the “Nevsky” shooting complex from St. Petersburg.

Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg Valery Pikalev congratulated all the winners on their well-deserved victory, on behalf of the Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov thanked each participant of the All-Russian competition for an honest and stubborn struggle. The vice-governor noted the importance of the event and reminded the audience of the great feat of the fallen soldiers who were the first to fight against extremism and terrorism. The end of the solemn part was the honoring of the winning teams, as well as prize-winners in the individual competition.

According to the results of the competition, the first place in the team competition among the power structures was taken by the command of the special forces “Typhoon” of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, the second place was taken by the special forces “Berserk” of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Nizhny Novgorod Region, the third place in the team competition was taken by the team special forces “Vector” of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. Among the teams of sportsmen-shooters, the team of the shooting complex “Nevsky” was recognized as the strongest, the second place went to the team “Sever”, the third place went to the team “Neva-4”.
