Today, on the territory of the Naval Base of the Iranian Naval Forces, in the city of Konarak, the opening ceremony of the International All-Around Diving Competition “Depth-2021” took place.

This is the third time that the Islamic Republic of Iran is hosting these competitions on the territory of its country as part of the International Army Games.

The competition is attended by teams of military divers from six countries: Russia, Venezuela, Iran, India, China and Syria.

At the opening ceremony, the participants of the competition were welcomed by: from the Iranian side – Deputy Commander of the Iranian Navy, Admiral Hamze Ali Kaviani, from the Russian Navy – Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Vice Admiral Vladimir Kasatonov.

Also, in honor of the beginning of the competition, the flag of the International Army Games and the flag of the “Depth” competition, the performance of drummers and the passage of the national teams participating in a solemn march took place.

On August 24, the competition itself will begin, for eight days of the competition, the participants will compete in performing various diving competitions – carrying weights, welding, cutting and assembling objects under water, filling holes in various ways and providing first aid to an emergency diver.

International competition in diving all-around “Depth-2021”, held within the framework of the “International Army Games – 2021” in the period from August 23 to September 01, 2021. The competition is held in the Islamic Republic of Iran, at the diving range of the Naval base in the seaport of the city Konarak.

The competition includes a competition of six exercises: Scales, Water Rescue and First Aid for a Drowned Diver, Assisting an Emergency Surface Ship, Keeping an Emergency Submarine Life Supporting, Flange and Rope.

The Russian Federation is represented by a combined team of representatives of the fleets and the Caspian Flotilla, under the leadership of Captain 1st Rank Damir Shaikhutdinov.

The International Army Games 2021 will be held from August 22 to September 4, 2021 on the territory of 11 states (Russia, Algeria, Armenia, Belarus, Vietnam, Iran, Qatar, Kazakhstan, China, Serbia, Uzbekistan).

In total, more than 5 thousand servicemen, consisting of 277 teams from 42 countries, take part in 34 competitions of ARMI-2021.
