A large-scale field exit of artillery units of the combined arms army of the Eastern Military District (VVO) on the eve of the upcoming inspection during the summer training period is taking place in the Primorsky Territory.

In total, the artillerymen will have to hit over 2000 targets imitating the command posts and equipment of the “enemy”.

Artillerymen perform practical firing with direct and semi-direct fire from closed firing positions using various types of ammunition for single and group targets. Shooting takes place both during the day and at night. During field exercises, special attention is paid to the work of calculations on navigation equipment, an artillery ballistic station, communication facilities, the study of reconnaissance techniques, as well as adjusting artillery fire.

The goal of the field exit is to improve the combat training of personnel, the skills of commanders in fire control during defense and offensive.

At the three combined-arms training grounds of the formation, artillerymen alternately go through all stages of combat training – from single training of servicemen to performing fire missions as part of subunits. Servicemen will practice day and night target shooting complexes, perform test shooting exercises as part of single crews and batteries.
