In Tajikistan, the crews of the Mi-8MTV5-1 landing transport helicopters and the Mi-24 combat helicopters of the aviation group of the 201st Russian military base performed training flights.

The pilots in pairs worked out piloting in mountain gorges, honed their skills when landing and taking off from unequipped landing sites. In the area of the Lyaur test site, the crews worked out helicopter ambushes, as well as evading the attacks of portable anti-aircraft missile systems.

Scheduled flights took place in the daytime and at night in simple and difficult weather conditions.

Mountain training is one of the most difficult elements of training army aviation crews due to unstable weather conditions, a sharp change in wind speed and direction, and complicated operating modes of aircraft.
