Servicemen of the mountain formation of the Central Military District (CVD), stationed in the Republic of Tuva, have begun relocating to the area of ​​the exercises of the military contingents of the Rapid Deployment Collective Forces of the Central Asian region of the CSTO “Rubezh-2021”. The exercises will take place in early September this year at the training ground of the Edelweiss training center in the Republic of Kyrgyzstan.

Currently, Russian mountain arrows are marching in a combined way. More than 400 km of the route from Kyzyl to Abakan were covered by armored vehicles “Tiger” and “Ural”, then at the Abakan railway station they were loaded onto railway platforms. In total, servicemen will cover about 3 thousand km.

During the exercise, Russian servicemen will work out the preparation and conduct of a joint military operation to block and destroy conditional illegal armed formations that have invaded the territory of a member state of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).

Up to 300 servicemen and more than 60 pieces of equipment will be involved from the Russian contingent.

Earlier, the commander of the Central Military District, Colonel-General Alexander Lapin, said that during the summer training period, nine joint international exercises will be held on the territory of Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The main event in the joint training of troops will be the Peace Mission 2021 anti-terrorist exercise.
