This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko during the plenary session “Digital transformation of science – a driver for ensuring Russia’s leadership in research and development” of the VIII International Forum for Technological Development “Technoprom-2021”. “One of the key directions of the strategy is the digital transformation of science, which, of course, should be reflected in improving the quality of management. With the help of “numbers” we will accelerate scientific and technological progress for researchers. For example, remote access to scientific installations, their digital counterparts and digital counterparts of experiments will appear, ”said Dmitry Chernyshenko.

During his report, the Deputy Prime Minister noted that in Russia there are already some groundwork in terms of research services that allow scientists to share data. It is a national research supercomputer network with points of presence in all federal districts and provides services to more than 150 higher education and research organizations. To support the activities of SKIF, a data hub and supercomputer facilities for modeling and performing calculations will also be created. In the future, they can be made available to a wide range of researchers.

“Within the framework of the digital development strategy for the sphere of science and higher education, it is envisaged to create a single service platform for science. It will provide access to the profiles of researchers, create opportunities for joint research and facilitate the interaction of science with the real sector of the economy. We will also create conditions for scientists to acquire digital skills at the stage of training or during advanced training, ”added Dmitry Chernyshenko.

Based on the results of the strategic session, the participants agreed that in the near future a roadmap for the development of projects for the digital transformation of the research and development sector, including the development of the national research supercomputer network, with a specific list of services for researchers and the terms of their commissioning will be formed.

Within the framework of the forum, Dmitry Chernyshenko also examined the main stands of the exhibition. First of all, I got acquainted with the expositions of world-class scientific and educational centers. He also visited the stand of the Novosibirsk Region, the stands of the Final of the Olympiad in 3D Technologies and the Siberian Venture Fair.
