At the “Army of Culture” creative competition held within the framework of the International Army Games (ARMI-2021), masters of choreography followed military musicians and vocalists into the competition.

The stage of the “Choreographic Skills” competition, which took place in the Red Banner Hall of the Central House of Arts, was led by the artist of the Central Academic Theater of the Russian Army Yuri Sazonov. He also introduced the members of the jury, which included representatives of the participating teams. The chief judge is Olga Faller, head of the cultural programs department of the Department of Culture of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

On this day, the soloists competed, and the criteria for evaluating the competition numbers were announced for the nominees: this is performing skills, including the technique of performing movements, artistry, the disclosure of an artistic choreographic image, stage performance (plasticity and culture of performance), the originality of the choreographer’s decision and the image (costume, make-up , hairstyle, props).

The participants of the competition were greeted by the director, choreographer, founder and artistic director of the renowned dance theater “Rendezvous” Yevgeny Malyshko, who wished all of them creative luck and wonderful performances. And the performances of the contestants were really wonderful, as if they transported the audience to the diverse world of enchanting art, in which the richness and color of many national cultures are presented.

Watching their numbers, as if making a wonderful trip to many countries of the planet. So, the representative of Laos in a lyrical, graceful dance introduced the beautiful national flower of luck. A performer from Azerbaijan, dancing masterly, showed hospitality in the teahouse. The number presented by Uzbekistan is an excursion to ancient Khorezm, in which the clang dance was born many millennia ago. The dance of a soloist from Kazakhstan is dedicated to the way of life in the steppe. Dancing numbers of Belarus, Sri Lanka, Serbia, Venezuela, Vietnam, Armenia, Myanmar, China were also presented. The audience also appreciated the Russian flavor: Alexandra Sitnikova performed “Russian Dance” from the ballet “Swan Lake”.

The International Army Games-2021 will be held from August 22 to September 4, 2021 on the territory of 11 states (Russia, Algeria, Armenia, Belarus, Vietnam, Iran, Qatar, Kazakhstan, China, Serbia, Uzbekistan).

In total, more than 5 thousand servicemen, consisting of 277 teams from 42 countries, take part in 34 contests of ARMI-2021.
