With the development of technologies, forms and methods of warfare, the approaches to training specialists are changing. For this, at the Ryazan Guards Higher Airborne Command School named after General of the Army V.F. Margelova (RVVDKU), a system for studying, generalizing and introducing into the educational process the modern experience of warfare and, above all, the experience of using the latest military equipment, has been created and is effectively working. This was stated by the commander of the Airborne Forces, Colonel-General Andrei Serdyukov, in an interview with reporters on the sidelines of the Army-2021 International Military-Technical Forum.

“Innovative methods are used to develop skills and abilities, first of all, on a stationary training base. Among them are the corresponding computer programs, the improvement and creation of new training software in relation to the tactics of the actions of the Airborne Forces. For example, the programming of a training battle: defensive, offensive, various types of combat operations, ”said Colonel-General Andrei Serdyukov.

He also added that a large number of innovative approaches are used in the educational process when conducting various types of classes, aimed primarily at increasing the efficiency of training future specialists.

“In order to qualitatively prepare a specialist in modern conditions, one cannot do without an innovative educational and material base. Over the long history of the airborne school, it has undergone significant changes. Thanks to the attentive attitude of the Minister of Defense of Russia and the command of the Airborne Forces, a unique educational and material base has now been created in the RVVDKU, and the school itself has become a center for training specialists who have no equal in the world. Even recently, there were no such modern simulators on which cadets are now training, but in the modern educational process this cannot be done without it, “the Commander of the Airborne Forces noted.

According to Colonel-General Andrei Serdyukov, to practice practical skills, the training ground of the Seltsy school has been almost completely updated, the areas of combat training have been expanded, training grounds have been created, modern training facilities have been built: deep-sea diving and multifunctional shooting complexes, an aerodynamic installation. Sports halls have been erected in each military town, mountain, moral, psychological and sea obstacle courses have been created.

“In order for the cadets not to start practical actions unprepared, they initially practice the appropriate skills on various simulators and computers equipped with training programs. More than 20 types of electronic simulators are currently widely used in the educational process, ”the commander of the Airborne Forces said.

So, at the departments of the school, there are several types of simulators aimed at developing and supporting the skills of trainees in preparing a vehicle for movement, driving an airborne combat vehicle in conditions as close as possible to combat ones. The complex classroom simulator “Logos” is also widely used for training tactical echelon command and control bodies for organizing combat and controlling subunits in combat. A typical module of the field automated command post of the battalion commander of the Airborne Forces is used for practical and group exercises in the organization of landing and combat. Cadets are engaged in a classroom simulator for training flamethrowers and a small artillery range.

“The school has made a significant step forward in improving firepower training. Particular attention is paid to the development of army tactical shooting. RVVDKU occupies one of the leading positions in the training of specialists in this area, “- said Andrei Serdyukov.

In addition, according to the commander of the Airborne Forces, the use of unmanned aerial vehicles has received a practical focus. Conducting reconnaissance actions, improved tasks of engaging the enemy with fire – this and much more is reflected in the training programs. More attention began to be paid to firing large-caliber machine guns, mortars and air defense weapons at field exits.

“As for the education of girls, I note that it is believed that women are the weaker sex, but this is not true. The training of girls in the RVVDKU began more than 10 years ago, and I can say with confidence that the graduates, and now female officers, serve no worse than men and continue to show high results. But to defend the Motherland is the constitutional duty of every citizen, ”recalled Colonel-General Andrei Serdyukov.
